Award from Del Duca Foundation (Institut de France / French Academy of Science)



27 April 2016. Damien has been awarded a prize from the Institut de France, located in the beautiful building (see picture) facing the famous "Pont des arts". Created in 1795, Institut de France gathers the 5 French Academies : Academie des sciences (French Academy of sciences), Académie Française, Académie des beaux-arts, Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres, and Académie des sciences morales et politiques.
This prize, supported by the Simone and Cino Del Duca Foundation, was delivered this year to three researchers below 45 and working in one of the following fields:
- Chemistry
- Molecular and Cell Biology, Genomic
- Integrative Biology
- Medical Sciences
Damien will receive 125 000 euros to support his research on magnetocapillary chemistry. The two other awardees this year were Nicolas Keller (ECPM, Strabsourg) for a project on artificial retina and Xavier Morin (IBENS, Ecole Normale Supérieure) for a project on epigenetics and neurogenesis.
